- MEETING CATEGORY 1 - ANNUAL ASSESSMENT - WATTS BAR NUCLEAR PLANT, DOCKET NOS. 50-390 AND 50-391

Dear Mr. Singer:

This letter confirms my conversation with Mr. Paul Pace of your staff on April 1, 2005, concerning an Annual Assessment Meeting requested by us which is scheduled for April 18, 2005, at 3:00 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the NRC Reactor Oversight Process Annual Assessment of your Watts Bar facility. During the meeting, we recognize that you may have information which you want to present to us or any members of the public in attendance. Accordingly, if you so desire, after our presentation you will be afforded an opportunity to respond to any information contained in the Annual Assessment Letter and to discuss any new or existing programs that are designed to maintain or improve your current performance. The meeting will be held in Classroom 13 at the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant Training Center, in Spring City, Tennessee.

The meeting will be an open meeting in accordance with NRCs Policy Statement for Enhancing Public Participation in NRC Meetings, May 28, 2002 (Federal Register Volume 67, Number 102, 36920-36924).

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter will be made available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRC's document system (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (Public Electronic Reading Room). The policy statement may be found on the NRC Web site, www.nrc.gov and contains information regarding visitors and security.

This is a Category 1 meeting: The public is invited to observe this meeting and will have one or more opportunities to communicate with the NRC after the business portion, but before the meeting is adjourned.
