KEWAUNEE NUCLEAR POWER PLANT - CORRECTION TO SAFETY EVALUATION APPROVING PHYSICAL SECURITY PLAN, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATION PLAN, AND SAFEGUARDS CONTINGENCY PLAN PURSUANT TO COMMISSION ORDER EA-03-086 REGARDING REVISED DESIGN BASIS THREAT (TAC NO. MC5650)
Dear Mr. Lambert:
By letter dated October 29, 2004, the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued an administrative change to Kewaunee Nuclear Power Plant (KNPP) Facility Operating License (FOL) (DPR-43) to incorporate the reference to the recently-revised physical security plan, training and qualification plan, and safeguards contingency plan (security plans). The approval of the security plans was documented in a safety evaluation (SE) provided as an enclosure to the October 29, 2004, letter.
Subsequently, by correspondence dated November 10, 2004, and November 18, 2004, the NRC staff issued revisions to the KNPP license pages and page 2 of the SE to rectify errors in the actual submission dates of the KNPP security plans.
By letter dated January 14, 2005, you identified two additional areas in the staffs SE which you feel need to be corrected to accurately reflect the actual provisions in your approved security plans. The NRC staff has reviewed your proposed corrections and agrees that they would provide a clearer basis for the staffs previous approval.
