DEC 2 9 2004 U S Nuclear Regulatory Commission ATTN: Document Control Desk Washington, DC 20555-0001 L-PI-04-135 1 OCFR50.55a Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant Unit 2 Docket 50-306 License No. DPR-60 Unit 2 lnservice Inspection Program 3rd Interval Extension The purpose of this letter is to notify the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) that Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant will be extending their 3rd Interval until the end of the May 2005 Refueling Outage as allowed by paragraph IWA-2430(d) of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code,Section XI, 1989 Edition. Examinations that will be performed during the May 2005 outage include the 10-year Reactor Vessel Examinations. The 3rd Interval ends on December 20, 2004. As allowed by Code Case N-535(b) and Regulatory Guide 1.147, Revision 13, examinations will commence for the qfh Interval during this outage as well.
Summary of Commitments This letter con new commitments and no revisions to existing commitments.
