Unit 3 Docket No. STN 50-530 Special Report 3-SR-2004-002 Attached please find Special Report 3-SR-2004-002 prepared and submitted pursuant to Technical Specifications (TS) Reporting Requirement 5.6.8. This report discusses steam generator tube plugging in Unit 3. Pursuant to Technical Specification 5.6.8, the complete results of the steam generator tube inservice inspection will be submitted by October 25, 2005. Copies of the Special Report are being forwarded to the Regional Administrator, NRC Region IV and the PVNGS Resident Inspector.

No commitments are being made to the NRC by this letter.

I Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station Unit 3 Steam Generator Tube Plugging Docket No. STN 50-530 Special Report No. 3-SR-2004-002 This Special Report is being provided pursuant to Palo Verde Unit 3 Technical Specifications (TS) Reporting Requirement 5.6.8 to report the number of steam generator tubes plugged and/or repaired as a result of inservice inspection activities.

On October 25, 2004, Unit 3 was defueled during a refueling outage when an inservice inspection of both steam generators was completed. The inspection resulted in the plugging of 94 tubes in Steam Generator No. 1 and 121 tubes in Steam Generator No.

2.

Pursuant to Technical Specification 5.6.8, the complete results of the steam generator tube inservice inspection will be submitted by October 25, 2005.
