ISSUANCE OF RENEWED FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NOS. DPR-19, DPR-25, DPR-29, AND DPR-30, DRESDEN NUCLEAR POWER STATION, UNITS 2 AND 3, AND QUAD CITIES NUCLEAR POWER STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2
Dear Mr. Crane:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has issued Renewed Facility Operating License Nos.
DPR-19, DPR-25, DPR-29, and DPR-30 (Enclosures 1, 2, 3, and 4), together with their Technical Specifications. These renewed facility operating licenses are being issued on the basis of our review of your application dated January 3, 2003, as supplemented and amended.
The renewed license for Dresden Unit 2, Renewed Operating License No. DRP-19, expires at midnight, December 22, 2029. The renewed license for Dresden Unit 3, Renewed Operating License No. DRP-25, expires at midnight, January 12, 2031. The renewed license for Quad Cities Unit 1, Renewed Operating License No. DRP-29, expires at midnight, December 14, 2032.
The renewed operating license for Quad Cities Unit 2, Renewed Operating License No. DRP-30, expires at midnight, December 14, 2032.
The technical basis for issuing the renewed licenses is set forth in NUREG-1796, Safety Evaluation Report Related to the License Renewal of Dresden Nuclear Power Stations, Units 2 and 3, and Quad Cities Nuclear Power Stations, Units 1 and 2. The results of the environmental review related to the issuance of the renewed licenses are contained in NUREG-1437, Supplement 16, Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants, Supplement 16 Regarding Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station, Units 1 and 2, and Supplement 17, Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants, Supplement 17 Regarding Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Units 2 and 3.
Enclosure 5 is a copy of the Federal Register notice announcing issuance of the renewed licenses, the original of which has been sent to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
