The NRC received an application from Carolina Power & Light, now doing business as Progress Energy Carolinas, Inc. (PEC), dated October 18, 2004, for the renewal of the operating license for the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant, Units 1 and 2. The purpose of the meeting is for the NRC staff to provide information describing the license renewal process and how the public can participate. The agenda for the meeting is attached. Information on the license renewal process is available at www.nrc.gov/reactors/operating/licensing/renewal.html the NRCs Website.

This is a Category 3 Meeting. The public is invited to participate in this meeting by providing comments and asking questions throughout the meeting.
