Responsible Manager J Date 1070 CAUTION MAXIMUM ALLOWED TDAFW PUMP OPERATION WITH NO COOLING IS 2 HOURS.
NOTE:
o IF fire water is available for TDAFW pump cooling, THEN perform Part A.
o IF fire water is NOT available, THEN perform Part B.
A. Aligning Fire Water Cooling to the TDAFW Pump
- 1. Obtain the hose from the Turbine Bldg. hose locker (top floor).
- 2.
CLOSE service water root valve to the TDAFW pump thrust bearing and lube oil cooler V-4087C (located on the south side of the pump below MOV-4013).
- 5. Check OPEN instrument root valve to PI-2134 SW inlet to TDAFW oil cooler V-4288 (located at the north west corner of the oil sump).
- 6. Connect one end of the hose to PI-2134.
- 7. Connect the other end of the hose to the Fire Water Main at valve V-9226.
(V-9226 is located by the S/G blowdown CNMT Isol Valves)
NOTE:
The following action may result in an automatic start of the Diesel Driven Fire Pump.
- 8. OPEN Containment hose reel supply drain & test connection valve V-9226.
- 9. VERIFY water is being supplied to the TDAFW pump thrust bearing by observing flow past valve V-4089A TDAFW Thrust bearing SW outlet block valve.
- 10. Verify PI-2134 indicates less than 150 psig.
- 11. Notify the Control Room fire water cooling is aligned to the TDAFW pump.

ATT-5.2 ATTACHMENT FIRE WATER COOLING TO TDAFW PUMP II PAGE 2 of 2 B. Aligning Self Cooling to the TDAFW Pump CAUTION THIS ALTERNATE COOLING METHOD DEPLETES CST INVENTORY.
THEREFORE, THIS METHOD OF COOLING SHOULD BE DELAYED AS LONG AS POSSIBLE, BUT NOT TO EXCEED A TDAFP RUN TIME OF 2 HOURS WITH NO COOLING.
NOTE:
Locked valve key is required.

Close service water root valve to the TDAFW pump thrust I
bearing and lube oil cooler, V-4087C (south side of pump below MOV-4013).

Ensure closed SW bypass isol from TDAFW pump lube oil cooler, V-4085B.
- 4. Ensure closed V-4299D, TDAFW pump casing drain valve.

- 5.
Open V-4299K, TDAFW pump self cooling outer isolation valve.
I
- 6. Open V-4299L, TDAFW pump self cooing inner isolation I
valve.
- 7. Notify the Control Room that the TDAFW pump is in the I
self-cooling alignment.
