The attached monthly operating report data has also been entered into the INPO Consolidated Database for the month of September 2004 for Units 1 and 2.

SUMMARY

Unit 1 began the month of September 2004 at 100% of rated thermal power (RTP).

On September 9th at 22:06 hours, reactor power was reduced from 99.9% RTP to 99.3% RTP for scram time testing.

On September 10th at 01:00 hours, reactor power was restored to 99.8% RTP. At 22:02 hours, reactor power was reduced from 99.9% RTP to 66.6% RTP for the post summer readiness load drop.

On September 11th at 23:06 hours, reactor power was restored to 99.9% RTP.

On September 15th at 16:11 hours, reactor power was reduced from 99.9% RTP to 98.0% RTP to investigate a potential reactor overpower condition.

On September 16th at 12:17 hours, ENS 41043 was submitted to NRC concerning the overpower event on Unit

1.

On September 20th at 02:39 hours, reactor power was restored to 99.9% RTP.

Unit 1 ended the month of September 2004 at 100% RTP.

SUMMARY

Unit 2 began the month of September 2004 at 100% of rated thermal power (RTP).

On September 2nd at 22:16 hours, reactor power was reduced from 99.9% RTP to 99.4% RTP for scram time testing.

On September 3rd at 04:54 hours, reactor power was restored to 99.9% RTP. At 22:02 hours, reactor power was reduced from 100% RTP to 64.0% RTP for the post summer readiness load drop.

On September 5th at 23:07 hours, reactor power was restored to 99.9% RTP.

On September 6th at 01:30 hours, reactor power was reduced from 99.9% RTP to 97.6% RTP for maintenance on the 2B Recirculation Pump MG Set. At 09:42 hours, reactor power was restored to 100%

RTP. At 23:00 hours, reactor power was reduced from 99.9% RTP to 97.1% RTP for maintenance on the 2B Recirculation Pump MG Set. At 23:45 hours, reactor power was restored to 99.9% RTP.

On September 12th at 09:58 hours, reactor power was reduced from 99.9% RTP to 98.7% RTP for maintenance on the 2B Recirculation Pump MG Set. At 13:13 hours, reactor power was restored to 100%

RTP.

On September 13th at 19:42 hours, reactor power was reduced from 99.7% RTP to 98.7% RTP for maintenance on the 2B Recirculation Pump MG Set. At 21:54 hours, reactor power was restored to 100%

RTP.

On September 16th at 22:00 hours, reactor power was reduced from 99.8% RTP to 89.1% RTP for rod pattern adjustment.

On September 17th at 02:33 hours, reactor power was restored to 99.8% RTP.

On September 22nd at 00:46 hours, reactor power was reduced from 99.9% RTP to 98.3% RTP for maintenance on the 2B Recirculation Pump MG Set. At 03:13 hours, reactor power was restored to 100%

RTP.

On September 24th at 09:59 hours, reactor power was reduced from 99.5% RTP to 97.6% RTP for maintenance of the 2B Recirculation Pump MG Set. At 13:23 hours, reactor power was reduced from 97.6%

RTP to 65.5% RTP for 5A Feedwater Heater maintenance.

Unit 2 ended the month of September 2004 at 98.3% RTP as a result of the 5A Feedwater Heater maintenance power ascension.
