SUMMARY

OF THE SEPTEMBER 28, 2004, PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS LICENSEE PERFORMANCE AND PLANNED ACTIVITIES AS PART OF THE MANUAL CHAPTER 0350 PROCESS AT THE DAVIS-BESSE NUCLEAR POWER STATION On September 28, 2004, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) held a public meeting at the Oak Harbor High School in Oak Harbor, Ohio. The meeting was between the NRC Davis-Besse Oversight Panel and FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC) to discuss licensee performance and planned activities as part of the Manual Chapter 0350 process at the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station. The letter of notification, meeting notice, NRC presentation, and licensee presentation can be found in ADAMS as ML042470037, ML042470043, ML042740093, and ML042740063, respectively. The transcript of the meeting will be made publicly available in ADAMS and on the NRCs Davis-Besse web page when it is available. A list of NRC and licensee meeting participants can be found in the attached Enclosure. Agenda topics included plant performance, discussion of the status of the licensees improvement initiatives, performance monitoring and independent assessments; and a discussion of site assessment, mid-cycle outage and oversight perspective.
