Letter on Significance Determination Process (SDP)

John:

The Probabilistic Safety Assessment Branch recently sent letters to some licensee PRA contacts regarding the current effort to revise SDP notebooks.

The NMP letter was addressed and sent to Ted Kulczycky (attached, letter only, ADAMS ML042470192).

1. Has Kulczycky received such a letter?

2. We are requesting this information in support of the SDP program. Although a response is not required, information provided will help ensure that the SDP notebooks reflect the current status of your facility.

3. Do you intend to respond to this request for information?

4. If the answer to #3 is affirmative, do you intend to respond within 30 days of receipt of the letter, as requested in the letter?

5. If you plan to respond, but not within 30 days, when would you provide the requested information (we need to agree on this first)?

6. Note that despite what the letter says, your response should be addressed to the Document Control Desk for docketing, with copies to the me, M. Tschiltz, and the point of contact identified in the letter. Since your response will contain potentially sensitive information, it should be transmitted in a manner consistent with that used for proprietary information. Please ensure that, with the exception of the transmittal cover letter to the Document Control Desk, all attached or enclosed information should be requested to be withheld from public disclosure.

Please reference this clarification e-mail in your response and clearly note if a response date other than that requested (i.e., within thirty days of receipt) has been agreed to with the NRC staff.
