Response to RAIs on NRC Bulletin 2--3-01 Alan:

The purpose of this email is to provide minor clarification on information contained on Page 7 of the attachment to the submittal dated June 11, 2004, Response to Requests for Additional Information on the Fort Calhoun Station Unit No. 1 Response to NRC Bulletin 2003-01, "Potential Impact of Debris Blockage on Emergency Sump Recirculation at Pressurized-Water Reactors" (LIC-04-0072).

The information under the heading "Securing two [High Pressure Safety Injection Pumps] HPSI Pumps" applies before or after the Recirculation Actuation Signal (RAS) is received, i.e., it was determined that securing two of three HPSI pumps (reducing to one operating HPSI pump) either before or after RAS was found to be inappropriate for Fort Calhoun Station (FCS) for the reasons provided in the submittal. Please contact me if you require any additional information. Thanks!
