CALLAWAY PLANT, UNIT 1 - DEFERRAL OF REVIEW OF LICENSE AMENDMENT REQUEST (TAC NO. MB9877)
Dear Mr. Randolph:
This letter is to inform you that the review of your license amendment request (LAR) for the Callaway Plant, Unit 1, submitted June 27, 2003 (ULNRC-04866), is being deferred until fiscal year 2005 (FY05) that begins October 1, 2004. The LAR is to extend the completion time for an inoperable diesel generator.
The NRC is deferring review of this LAR to support the review of security plan, safeguard contingency, and security personnel training and qualification plan changes, required by the April 29, 2003, Commission Order. I have discussed the deferral of this amendment request with Mr. Dave Shafer of your staff.
Please have Mr. Shafer inform me if circumstances change with regard to any impact on your ability to safely operate the plant as a result of the deferral of this amendment request. I can be contacted at 301-415-1307.
