Response to Requests for Additional Information on the Nine Mile Point Safeguards Contingency Plan and Section 9.4.1 of the Physical Security Plan

Spina (NMPNS) to Document Control Desk (NRC), dated April 28, 2004, "Supplemental Response to the April 29, 2003 Orders to Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, LLC" (b) Letter from B. Benney (NRC) to J.A. Spina (NMPNS), dated July 23, 2004, "Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, Units I and 2, Request for Additional Information Re: Safeguards Contingency Plan and Section 9.4.1 of the Physical Security Plan" In reference (a), Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, LLC (NMPNS), submitted its revised Physical Security, Safeguards Contingency, and Security Training and Qualification Plan for Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station in response to the April 29, 2003 Order revising the design basis threat.
This letter is in response to reference (b), in which the NRC requested a response within ten days from the date of the letter. However, in subsequent discussion with NMPNS, Mr. James Creed, Project Manager Security Plan Review Team, indicated that response by August 13, 2004 would be sufficient. The enclosure to this letter, classified as Safeguards Information, provides our response to each item in the RAI. Should you have any questions on this matter, we will be pleased to discuss them with you.
