SUMMARY
OF PUBLIC INFORMATION SESSION FOR THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION (NRC) STAFF TO DESCRIBE ITS LICENSE RENEWAL PROCESS On July 8, 2004, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff conducted a Public Information Session to describe the license renewal process to the public living near Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2. The purpose of the meeting was to provide information describing the license renewal process and how the public can participate. The meeting was held at the Joint News Center at 10 Airport Road in Fulton, New York. A list of meeting attendees is provided in Enclosure 1, and the meeting agenda is provided in Enclosure 2. A copy of the presentation slides used by the NRC staff are provided in Enclosure 3.
After welcoming the public participants, the NRC staff presented slides describing the NRCs license renewal process and how the public can participate in the process. The staff then answered questions from members of the public.
