FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY (FEMA) DEFICIENCY DURING THE JUNE 22, 2004, PEACH BOTTOM ATOMIC POWER STATION PLUME EXPOSURE PATHWAY EXERCISE
Dear Mr. Crane:
Enclosed is a letter dated July 1, 2004 from Mr. Darrell Hammons, Regional Assistance Committee Chairman, FEMA Region III to Mr. Hubert Miller, Regional Administrator, NRC Region I. The enclosed letter informed us of a deficiency pertaining to the staffing issues and staff performance at the Delta/Peach Bottom Emergency Operations Center in response to an emergency action level during the Peach Bottom full scale exercise.
FEMA has stated that this Deficiency should be corrected within 120 days from the date of the above mentioned letter. Please provide assistance to offsite agencies and officials as they resolve this issue on a timely basis.
