Dear Ms. Lampert:
Your petition dated June 12, 2004, addressed to the Chairman of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) was received on June 21, 2004, and has been referred to the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Section 2.206 of the Commissions regulations.
In your petition, you requested that the NRC not allow the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station to continue to operate should the union workers initiate a strike.
On July 15, 2004, a new contract was ratified between Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. and Utility Workers Union of America, Local 369, and a strike was avoided. Therefore, the NRC Petition Review Board has taken no action on your petition request. The NRC considers this request closed based on the ratification of the contract and no strike action.
Thank you for bringing these issues to the attention of the NRC.
