FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY (FEMA) DEFICIENCY DURING THE MAY 11, 2004, BEAVER VALLEY POWER STATION PLUME EXPOSURE PATHWAY EXERCISE
Dear Mr. Pearce:
Enclosed is a letter from Mr. Darrell Hammons, Regional Assistance Committee Chairman, FEMA Region III, dated May 26, 2004, transmitting a letter to Mr. Hubert Miller, Regional Administrator, NRC Region I. The enclosed letter informed him of a deficiency pertaining to the Beaver County Emergency Operations Center. Beaver County residents were not informed via the emergency alert system messages 1 and 2 to take potassium iodide.
We understand that a retest occurred on June 16, 2004, and demonstrated that this proposed deficiency was corrected. Thank you for providing assistance to offsite officials as they resolved this issue on a timely basis.
