SUMMARY

OF MARCH 25, 2004, ANNUAL ASSESSMENT MEETING WITH ENTERGY NUCLEAR NORTHEAST On March 25, 2004, at 1:00 p.m., an Annual Assessment Meeting was conducted at the Emergency Operations Center/Joint News Center in the Oswego County Airport at 2262 NY State Route 176 in Fulton, NY 13609, between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Entergy Nuclear Northeast (Fitzpatrick). The NRC requested the annual assessment meeting with Fitzpatrick management to discuss NRCs assessment of the safety performance of the Fitzpatrick Nuclear Power Station for calendar year 2003.

The NRC presented and discussed its assessment of the safety performance of Fitzpatrick for the period between January 1 through December 31, 2003. The NRC presentation included information about the inspection activities and performance assessment results for calendar year 2003 and a discussion of general NRC issues. Local officials and the public observed this public meeting and its accompanying question period and were offered the opportunity to communicate with the NRC regarding Fitzpatricks performance and the role of the agency in ensuring safe plant operations.
