OF MEETING HELD ON APRIL 28, 2004, WITH THE BOILING WATER REACTORS OWNERS GROUP (BWROG) TO DISCUSS FUEL GAP FRACTION TOPICAL REPORT SUBMITTAL (TAC NO. MC2327)
On April 28, 2004, representatives of the BWROGs Alternative Source Terms (AST)
Committee met with the staff to discuss the committees current development of a topical report (TR) to address recent fuel gap fraction analyses.
The BWROG began the meeting with an overview presentation of the AST Committees role and the generic issues it aims to address. The presentation then turned to developments that the BWROG has recently made with fuel gap fraction analyses. This has been an on-going effort to address the potential future constraints of licensees exceeding currently approved NRC requirements for rod power levels. The staff engaged the BWROG in discussions about potential issues that may result in requests for additional information (RAI) for a future TR. The BWROG agreed to examine those areas further in anticipation of any RAI. Following the meeting, the staff expressed its appreciation to the BWROG for the presentation.
