! NRC will address the licensee performance discussed in the annual assessment letter

! Licensee can respond to the information in the letter and inform the NRC of new or existing programs to maintain or improve their performance

Sequoyah Nuclear Plant Assessment Results January 1-December 31, 2003

! All inspection findings were classified as very low safety significance (Green)

! All PIs were Green at the end of the period for both units with the exception of Unit 2, which had white one PI (unplanned scrams per 7000 critical hours) in the initiating events cornerstone during the first half of the period

! TVA operated Sequoyah Nuclear Plant in a manner that preserved public health and safety

! All cornerstone objectives were met

! We completed a supplemental Inspection in July 2003 for the white PI. The PI returned to Green in the 3rd quarter of 2003

! Plant performance was in the Licensee Response Column of the NRCs Action Matrix at the end of the period for both units.
