Southern California Edison (SCE) received the Order Modifying Licenses (EA-03-039) dated April 29, 2003 (the "Order) which establishes new requirements for tactical and firearms proficiency and physical fitness for the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) security force personnel. SCE responded to the Order by letter dated June 3, 2003 stating that it intends to achieve compliance by October 29, 2004 with each compensatory measure set forth in Attachment 2 to the Order.
The purpose of this letter is to clarify the means by which SCE intends to implement compensatory measure C.2.a.5.(2), given in Attachment 2 of the Order, as set forth in the enclosure to this letter.
Note that the enclosure to this letter contains Safeguards Information as defined by 10 CFR 73.2. This transmittal letter may be decontrolled upon separation from its enclosure.
