MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT - CATEGORY ONE MEETING OCONEE - DOCKET NOS. 50-269, 50-270, 50-287
Dear Mr. Jones:
This letter confirms the telephone conversation between Gram Davenport of your staff and myself on February 26, 2004, concerning a technical staff meeting which has been scheduled for March 11, 2004, from 10:00 a.m. to 12 Noon. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss a previous condition at the Oconee site where water was discovered in the bearing lubricating oil for the standby shutdown facility auxiliary service water (ASW) pump. Specifically, your understanding of how water entered into the ASW pump bearing housing will be discussed.
Additionally, details of a test that your staff has proposed will be discussed. The location of the meeting will be at Region II, Sam Nunn Atlanta Federal Center, 61 Forsyth Street SW, Suite 24T25, Atlanta, Georgia 30303-8931. This meeting is an open meeting in accordance with NRCs Policy Statement for Enhancing Public Participation in NRC Meetings, May 28, 2002 (Federal Register Volume 67, Number 102, Pages 36920-36924).
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRCs "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs document system (ADAMS).
