DATE TYPE DURATION REASON' METHOD OF CAUSE/CORRECTIVE ACTIONS F: FORCED (HOURS) SHUTTING S: SCHEDULED DOWN 2 COMMENTS04-001 040123 F 54.4 A 3 On 01/23/04 at 1527 an automatic trip occurred from 100% power. The unit tripped on low steam generator water level caused by a loss of 22 Steam Generator Feed Pump. The unit was brought to a safe shutdown in Mode

3. Trouble shooting identified that the pump tripped on an inadvertent electronic overspeed signal caused by a degradation of voltage supplying the Digital Speed Monitor, which generated a trip signal to the feed pump controls trip circuit. The cause of the voltage degradation was corrected. A temporary alteration to remove this trip was performed on both feed pumps.

This temporary alteration was also performed on the other unit's feed pumps. The unit was paralleled to the grid on 01/25/04 at 2153. A detailed root cause analysis and a Licensee Event Report (LER) are in progress.
