NPF-63 SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION CONCERNING REQUEST FOR LICENSE AMENDMENT, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 5.6.3.d, TAC NUMBER MB7736 Ladies and Gentlemen:
On February 14, 2003, Progress Energy Carolinas, Inc. (PEC) requested a license amendment for the Harris Nuclear Plant (HNP) to allow an increase in the decay heat load from fuel stored in Spent Fuel Pools C and D in Technical Specification 5.6.3.d. This purpose of this letter is to provide the NRC with a revised implementation schedule for the amendment.
In the February 14zh letter, PEC requests that the proposed amendment be issued within one year of submittal, with implementation during the next available refueling outage after approval.
HNP has determined that implementation can proceed prior to the next refueling outage, and requests that implementation be revised to within six months after approval.
