REVISED INSPECTION SCHEDULE ARISING FROM REORGANIZATION OF THE NRC REGION IV DIVISION OF REACTOR SAFETY
Dear Mr. Muench:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Region IV, has reorganized its Division of Reactor Safety (DRS) effective December 28, 2003.
The Divisions inspection duties were formerly divided among three branches:
Operations Branch Operator licensing Identification and Resolution of Problems (PI&R)
Plant Support Branch Security Radiological Controls Emergency Preparedness Engineering & Maintenance Branch Safety System Design and Performance Capability Permanent Plant Modifications Inservice Inspection Activities Evaluation of Changes, Tests or Experiments Fire Protection Heat Sink Performance Maintenance Effectiveness Beginning in January, 2004, there will be four DRS inspection branches with inspection responsibilities as follows:
Operations Branch Initial Operator Licensing Operator Requalification Program Emergency Preparedness PI&R Support Performance Evaluation Branch PI&R Lead Responsibility Fire Protection Heat Sink Performance Maintenance Effectiveness
Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation Engineering Branch Safety System Design and Performance Capability Permanent Plant Modifications Inservice Inspection Activities Evaluation of Changes, Tests or Experiments PI&R Support Plant Support Branch Security Radiological Controls PI&R Support The reorganization of DRS and the reallocation of inspection duties required changes to the 2004 calendar year inspection schedule. The new DRS inspection schedule for your plant is attached.
