Dear Mr. Skolds:
This letter confirms the discussion between members of our staffs for your management to make a presentation to the NRC concerning the August 29, 2003, event notification that Byron Station may have exceeded its licensed thermal power limits (Event Notification 40117). The meeting will focus on your evaluation of the decision-making process that led to the event, lessons learned, and corrective actions taken or planned as a result of your investigation. The meeting will be held December 2, 2003, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (CST) at the Region III Office. This meeting is open to the public.
We will gladly discuss any questions you may have concerning this matter.
In accordance with 10 CFR Part 2.790 of the NRCs Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs document system (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading_rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).
