OF MEETING BETWEEN THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION (NRC) STAFF AND ENTERGY OPERATIONS, INC. (ENTERGY)
REPRESENTATIVES TO DISCUSS THE ARKANSAS NUCLEAR ONE - UNIT 2 LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION On September 26, 2003, the NRC staff met with members of Entergy Operations, Inc. (Entergy or the applicant) in a public meeting to discuss the license renewal application (LRA) for the Arkansas Nuclear One, Unit 2 (ANO-2). The list of attendees is provided in Enclosure 1, and the meeting agenda is provided in Enclosure 2.
The NRC staff presented an overview of the revised review process for license renewal application. Mr. T.J. Kim described differences between the former process and the new process with an emphasis on the duties of the audit teams. Mr. Gregory Suber discussed the proposed schedule for the first portion of the LRA review. Mr. Garry Young, Ms. Natalie Mosher and Mr. Michael Stroud of Entergy provided an overview of the ANO-2 LRA format. The applicant discussed the features of ANO-2, LRA format, and its approach in applying NUREG-1801, Generic Aging Lessons Learned (GALL) Report, for the identification of plant components consistent with GALL programs.
A draft copy of this summary was provided to the applicant to allow it the opportunity to comment prior to the summary being issued.
