November 2, 2003 Mr. John L. Skolds, President Exelon Nuclear Exelon Generation Company, LLC 4300 Winfield Road Warrenville, IL 60555
SUBJECT:
DRESDEN NUCLEAR POWER STATION, UNITS 2 AND 3 - WITHDRAWAL OF AN AMENDMENT REQUEST (TAC NOS. MB7028 AND MB7029)
Dear Mr. Skolds:
By letter dated December 20, 2002, you applied for an amendment to the Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Units 2 and 3, Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-19 and DPR-25. The proposed change would have revised the applicability of facility technical specifications pertaining to Reactor Protection System (RPS) instrumentation, main steam isolation valve closure and turbine condenser vacuum - low functions. The proposed revision was to eliminate the requirement for these functions to be operable while in Mode 2 with reactor pressure greater than or equal to 600 psig, and to delete the associated Required Action such that it aligns with the revised applicability of these functions. Subsequently, by letter dated October 1, 2003, you withdrew the amendment request.
The Commission has filed the enclosed Notice of Withdrawal of Application for Amendment to Facility Operating License with the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
Sincerely,
/RA/
