Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, LLC is submitting the following Special Report for Nine Mile Point Unit 1 (NMP1)concerning the inoperability of Channel #11 Containment Hydrogen Monitoring System (CBMS). This submittal is in accordance with Action Statement 4.a of Table 3.6.11-2, "Accident Monitoring Instrumentation Action Statements," of the NMP1 Technical Specifications.
Description ofEvent On July 22, 2003, at approximately 0654 hours0.00757 days <br />0.182 hours <br />0.00108 weeks <br />2.48847e-4 months <br />, operators declared Channel -#II CHMS inoperable in order to ilw-o peffbrniroNI13D;systems
-Integrity Helium Leak Rate Test," onXheontaiment Airborne Activity Monitor (CAM)
System. Channel-#l1 of-the CHMS shares a'common sample stream returnline with the CAM system. -The performance-of Nl-ISP-201-530 required the shared sample stream return line isolation valves to be closed, thereby causing Channel #11 CHMS to be inoperable. After completion ofN1-ISP-201-530, Channel #11 CHMS was returned to service at approximately. 1545 hours0.0179 days <br />0.429 hours <br />0.00255 weeks <br />5.878725e-4 months <br /> on July 22,j2003.:
The redundant Channel #12 CHMS was verified in service prior to removing Channel
