SHEARON HARRIS NUCLEAR POWER PLANT - DOCKET NO. 50-400
Dear Mr. Scarola:
This refers to the management meeting held at your request in the Region II Office, Sam Nunn Atlanta Federal Center, 61 Forsyth Street, S.W., Atlanta, Georgia, in Suite 24T20 on July 31, 2003, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (EDT). The meetings purpose was to discuss your progress in making changes to your fire protection program. Enclosed is a list of attendees and the presentation handouts.
Your staff presented an overview of recent NRC fire protection inspection findings, root causes, and corrective actions. The organization, goals, tasks and milestones associated with your new Safe Shutdown Analysis Validation Project, as well as newly identified fire protection issues, were also discussed. We believe this meeting was informative and useful in understanding your achievements and future plans related to your fire protection program. We agreed to meet again in December 2003 to update your progress in this area.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRCs "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its enclosures will be made available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs document system (ADAMS).
