ARKANSAS NUCLEAR ONE, UNITS 1 AND 2 - REPLY TO RESPONSE TO ORDER FOR INTERIM SAFEGUARDS AND SECURITY COMPENSATORY MEASURES (TAC NO. MB8709 AND MB8710)
On February 25, 2002, the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued an Order modifying the operating licenses for Arkansas Nuclear One (ANO), Units 1 and 2, to require compliance with Interim Safeguards and Security Compensatory Measures. During the ANO Interim Compensatory Measure (ICM) security inspection conducted the week of January 6, 2003, an unresolved item in the inspection report dated February 13, 2002 (OCNA020306), was identified. In a letter dated April 2, 2003, you submitted a response to the Order and provided a description of an alternative implementation strategy for the unresolved item identified in the inspection report. The NRC staff has reviewed your response to the Order and our evaluation is provided in the enclosure. Please note the enclosure is classified as Safeguards Information; it is not available to the public and should be handled in accordance with 10 CFR 73.21, Requirements for the protection of safeguards information.
