Dear Mr. Skermont:
This letter responds to your letter dated June 24, 2003, which forwards letters written by members of your organization expressing general support for the proposed renewal of the operating license for Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Units 2 and 3. We appreciate your interest in providing this feedback to us.
Your letter, with its attachments, has been placed in the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) public records for the review of the proposed licensing action. Each of the attached letters was reviewed and based on that review, it has been determined that they do not contain environmental information significantly different from the general statements of support provided by members of your organization on April 10, 2003, at a public meeting held by the NRC staff in Morris, Illinois. The public meeting was held during a scoping process that ended on May 12, 2003. The comments provided at that meeting by your members David Balog, Thomas Connor, Benjamin Kosiek, Cecil Pinder and Robert Schwartz generally reflect the statements provided by your June 24, 2003, letter and those statements also reflect general support for license renewal. Because the public meeting comments were received during the scoping process, they will be addressed in an environmental scoping summary report to be issued by the NRC staff in the near future.
