SUMMARY
OF MEETING HELD ON APRIL 15, 2003, TO DISCUSS STEAM GENERATOR ISSUES On April 15, 2003, representatives of Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) met with the NRC staff to make a presentation on steam generator issues for Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant (DCPP), Units 1 and 2.
PG&E gave an overview of the DCPP Unit 2 pulled tube results which included a discussion of the destructive examination and the effect on alternate repair criteria (ARC) correlations. The meeting continued with a presentation of probability of prior cycle detection (POPCD) including responses to the NRC questions regarding that method. PG&E further discussed the applicability of ARC correlation to DCPP Unit 2.
PG&E provided responses to the verbal questions from the staff and discussed a tentative schedule for submittal of the POPCD method.
