Text

The radioactive equipment drains route floor drainage to the liquid waste processing system, which is not within the scope of license renewal, to drain raw water from rooms following actuation of fire suppression systems. The radioactive equipment drains are within the scope of license renewal only because it credited by the fire protection system. The potential aging effects/mechanisms that are applicable do not affect the ability of the components to perform this intended function to drain raw water. Therefore, no AMP is required. The statement under intended function of Table 2.3-13 is only a standard statement if the system delivers sufficient flow. It does not imply that they are pressure-retaining boundary components in the sense of ASME B&PV Code Section III. The above statement has been confirmed with the applicant through a telephone conference held on June 10, 2003.

Based on the above review, the staff concurs with applicants conclusion presented under the Discussion column of Table 3.3-2 of the LRA.
