SUMMARY

OF THE APRIL 8, 2003, MEETING WITH NUCLEAR MANAGEMENT COMPANY, LLC TO DISCUSS PRAIRIE ISLAND PERFORMANCE On April 8, 2003, a public meeting was held at the Prairie Island Training Center Aduditorium, Welch, Minnesota, between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Nuclear Management Company staff. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss NRCs assessment of Prairie Islands performance for the period of January 1, 2002, through December 31, 2002.

During the NRC presentation, an overall assessment of Prairie Island performance was provided. As explained in the Annual Assessment letter from NRC to Mr. M. Nazar, Site General Manager, Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant, dated March 4, 2003, reference ADAMS accession number ML030640430, Prairie Island operated in a manner that preserved public health and safety and fully met all cornerstone objectives. The slides presented that evening by the NRC are available in ADAMS (accession number ML030930083).

Before adjourning the meeting the NRC provided the opportunity for members of the public to ask questions.
