I would like to personally invite you and other members of your organization to attend a meeting between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and AmerGen Energy Company in which the NRC staff will discuss with AmerGen our annual assessment of the safety performance of the Oyster Creek Nuclear Power Station.
The meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. on March 28, 2003, at the Lacey Township Municipal Building, Forked River, New Jersey and is open to the public for observation. At the meeting we will briefly discuss our Reactor Oversight Process and then discuss with AmerGen our assessment of their safety performance of Oyster Creek and their response to our assessment.
The NRC staff will be available following the meeting to answer questions from you and members of the public regarding the safety performance of Oyster Creek and the role of the NRC in ensuring safe plant operations.
The NRC recently completed its annual assessment of the safety performance of the Oyster Creek Power Station in accordance with the NRC Reactor Oversight Process.
