SUMMARY

OF MARCH 17, 2003, ANNUAL ASSESSMENT MEETING WITH FPL ENERGY SEABROOK On March 17, 2003 at 6:00 p.m., an annual assessment meeting was conducted at the Seabrook Community Center in Seabrook, New Hampshire between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and FPL Energy Seabrook. The NRC presented and discussed its assessment of the safety performance of Seabrook Station for the period between January 1 through December 31, 2002.

The NRC presented a summary of national plant performance and discussed the annual assessment results for Seabrook Station. An update on NRC actions to enhance nuclear plant security was also presented. At the end of the meeting between the NRC and FPL Energy Seabrook, public attendees were offered the opportunity to ask questions of NRC officials.

Questions raised by local media were addressed by the NRC. There were no feedback forms submitted by the public immediately following the meeting. The attendance list is enclosed (Enclosure 1).
