PUBLIC MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT

- CATEGORY ONE MEETING ANNUAL ASSESSMENT - MCGUIRE NUCLEAR STATION DOCKET NOS. 50-369, 50-370

Dear Mr. Jamil:

This letter confirms the conversation between Ms. K. Crane of your staff and Mr. G. DiPaolo of my staff on March 11, 2003, concerning an Annual Assessment Meeting requested by us which is scheduled for April 4, 2003, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (EST). The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the NRC Reactor Oversight Process Annual Assessment of your McGuire facility. During the meeting, we recognize that you may have information which you want to present to us or any members of the public in attendance. Accordingly, if you so desire, after our presentation you will be afforded an opportunity to respond to any information contained in the Annual Assessment Letter and to discuss any new or existing programs that are designed to maintain or improve your current performance. The meeting will be held in the Community Room at the North County Regional Branch of the Charlotte & Mecklenburg County Public Library. It is located off Exit 25 of I-77, at 16500 Holly Crest Lane, Huntersville, NC 28078. The meeting will be an open meeting in accordance with "NRCs Policy Statement for Enhancing Public Participation in NRC Meetings," May 28, 2002 (Federal Register Volume 67, Number 102, 36920-36924).

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRCs "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs document system (ADAMS).
