Dear Mr. Hairston:
This refers to the meeting conducted at your request at the Southern Nuclear Operating Company headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama on February 27, 2003. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss status and performance, new initiatives, and other general industry issues pertaining to the Farley, Hatch, and Vogtle plants. Enclosed are a list of attendees and the presentation handout.
The discussions focused on the following topics: Vogtle, Hatch, and Farley major issues; the Southern Nuclear Company (SNC) engineering organization, your materials program self-assessments and materials reliability project; and a tour of the new SNC corporate emergency operations center. The NRC attendees discussed current industry issues. The meeting was informative and did not result in any specific action items or decisions.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRCs "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its enclosures will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs document system (ADAMS).
