- CATEGORY ONE MEETING ANNUAL ASSESSMENT - VOGTLE ELECTRIC GENERATING PLANT, DOCKET NOS. 50-424 AND 50-425

Dear Mr. Gasser:

This letter confirms the conversation between Mr. Mehdi Sheibani of your staff and Mr.

John Zeiler of the NRC staff concerning an Annual Assessment Meeting (Category One public meeting) requested by us which is scheduled for April 1, 2003, at 1:00 p.m. (EST). The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the NRC Reactor Oversight Process Annual Assessment of your Vogtle Electric Generating Plant. During the meeting, we recognize that you may have information which you want to present to us or any members of the public in attendance.

Accordingly, if you so desire, after our presentation you will be afforded an opportunity to respond to any information contained in the Annual Assessment Letter and to discuss any new or existing programs that are designed to maintain or improve your current performance. The location of the meeting will be held in Room 504 (lower level) of the Vogtle Training Center at 9034 River Road, Waynesboro, GA. The meeting will be an open meeting in accordance with NRCs Policy Statement for Enhancing Public Participation in NRC Meetings, May 28, 2002 (Federal Register Volume 67, Number 102, 36920-36924).
