Oconee Nuclear Station, Units 1, 2, and 3 Docket Numbers 50-269, 50-270, and 50-287 Schedule Change for Keowee Digital Governor Modification Duke provided the NRC a revised schedule for the Keowee Hydro Unit (KHU) Digital Governor Modification by letter dated November 29, 2001.
The revised schedule, based on an integrated schedule developed for all the Keowee upgrades, showed the upgrades for one KHU being completed in August 2003 and the other in March 2004. After assessing the design and material status of the KHU upgrades, Duke has decided to delay the Keowee upgrade work by approximately 6 months. Upgrades are now expected to be completed in February 2004 for one KHU and July 2004 (or February 2005) for the other KHU.
Duke submitted a temporary License Amendment Request on August 22, 2002.
This temporary change is needed to allow the KHU upgrade work to be performed.
The requested approval date was May 16, 2003.
Based on the new schedule provided above, the approval for these changes is not needed until November 30, 2003.
