FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY FINAL EXERCISE REPORT FOR THE OCTOBER 23, 2002 SEABROOK NUCLEAR POWER STATION EXERCISE
Dear Mr. Warner:
A disc containing an electronic copy of the Final Exercise Report for the October 23, 2002, Seabrook exercise which was sent to Hubert Miller, NRC Region I Regional Administrator, from Wanda Gaudet, FEMA Region I.
A copy of this report will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs document system (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/ADAMS.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room). The package containing this report has been given the accession number of ML030420096. Please access this report for details concerning the exercises.
Our January 24, 2003, we sent a letter to you indicating FEMAs initial assessment of two Deficiencies identified during the exercise (one for the State of New Hamsphire and one for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts) regarding the issuance of KI during the exercise as stated in their November 7, 2002, letters to the States. Subsequent to those letters, in its final assessment, FEMA re-evaluated the issues as being areas requiring corrective action (ARCAs).
Therefore, the Final Exercise Report contains no Deficiencies, however, there were a total of 31 ARCAs identified during the exercise. Please continue your assistance to the offsite agencies to resolve the issues in a timely manner.
