Cook Nuclear Plant (CNP) Units 1 and 2, hereby submits the CNP Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR) update as required by 10 CFR 50 71(e), a report of changes, tests, and experiments as required by 10 CFR 50.59(d)(2), a Commitment Change Summary Report as recommended by NEI 99-04, "Guidelines for Managing Nuclear Regulatory Commission Commitment Changes," and the updated Quality Assurance Plan Description as required by 10 CFR 50.54(a)(3)
I&M is submitting an electronic copy of the UFSAR (Enclosure 1) on a CD-ROM (Disk 1) in accordance with 10 CFR 50.4(c) and NRC Regulatory Issue Summary 2001-005, "Guidance on Submitting Documents to the NRC by Electronic Information Exchange or CD-ROM." This UFSAR update includes the changes made to Unit 1 and Unit 2 since the update provided in Reference 1.
The remaining issues identified in Reference 1 requiring further engineering analysis or NRC approval have been incorporated, with the exception of the changes associated with the NRC approval of the Alternate Source Term (AST)
Methodology approved by Reference 2 The changes associated with the AST for CNP control room habitability analysis were approved on December 11, 2002, and will be provided to the NRC in the next 10 CFR 50.71(e) update. Per Reference 3, I&M is required to submit this update within two years of the date of the last submittal A second CD-ROM (Disk 2) provides electronic copies of the following
"* A report of Changes, Tests, and Experiments as required by 10 CFR 50 59(d)(2) from January 1, 2001 to December 7, 2002 (Enclosure 2).
I&M's Commitment Change Summary Report (Enclosure 3), which was prepared in accordance with NEI 99-04. The report provides brief summaries of commitment changes from March 31, 2001 to December 7, 2002
