- DISCUSS TECHNICAL BASES OF OPERABILITY EVALUATION - OCONEE NUCLEAR STATION
Dear Mr. Jones:
This refers to the open meeting that was conducted on January 9, 2003, at the Region II Office, Sam Nunn Federal Center, 61 Forsyth Street SW, Atlanta, Georgia 30303, in Suite 24T25. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the technical bases of your operability evaluation involving Oconees emergency core cooling system equipment and room temperatures that will exist following certain accident scenarios. A list of attendees and a copy of your presentation handout are enclosed.
It is our opinion this meeting was beneficial, in that it provided the NRC staff with additional information and insights regarding your operability evaluation. As indicated during the meeting, you agreed to provide us with the requested supporting documents which will allow us to further assess your operability evaluation.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRCs "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and enclosures will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs document system (ADAMS).
