MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT - TECHNICAL MEETING OCONEE - DOCKET NOS. 50-269, 50-270, 50-287
Dear Mr. Jones:
This letter confirms the telephone conversation between L. Nicholson of your staff and myself on January 6, 2003, concerning a technical meeting which has been scheduled for January 9, 2003, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. This meeting was requested to discuss the technical bases of your operability evaluation involving emergency core cooling system equipment and room temperatures that will exist following certain accident scenarios. The location of the meeting will be at the Region II Office, Sam Nunn Federal Center, 61 Forsyth Street SW, Atlanta, Georgia 30303, in Suite 24T20.
This meeting is an open meeting as per "Staff Meetings Open to the Public; Final Policy Statement" (September 20, 2000; 65 FR 56964). This meeting is designated as a Category 1 meeting in accordance with Commission Policy. As such, meetings in this category are typically held with one licensee to discuss particular regulatory issues regarding their specific facility. At this type of meeting, the NRC anticipates that the public would obtain factual information to assist in their understanding of the applicable regulatory issues and NRC actions.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRCs "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs document system (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).
