Dear Mr. Scarola:
This refers to an investigation initiated by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Office of Investigations (OI) regarding the alleged deliberate granting of access authorization to employees without conducting a complete background investigation. The OI investigation was completed on October 16, 2002, and based on the evidence developed during the investigation, the allegation was not substantiated. In addition, no findings of significance were identified associated with the investigation.
Based on the OI conclusion, we plan no further action with regard to this matter. Should you have any questions concerning this letter, please contact me at 404-562-4653.
