John Additional Questions
- 1. Has the NRC approved the Westinghouse Best Estimate LBLOCA methodology for analyses of Framatome fuel in any other 2-loop upper plenum injection plant?
A. If so, provide a reference and justify that the reference applies to the Kewaunee reload.
B. If not:
- i. Identify and justify LBLOCA analyses that do apply to the Framatome fuel and justify that the analytical processes properly account for mixed fuel types, or ii. justify that the Westinghouse BE LBLOCA methodology applies to Framatome fuel co-resident with the Westinghouse fuel and the analytical processes properly account for mixed fuel types.
- 2. Discuss how the Kewaunee LBLOCA methodology(ies) account for the mixed fuel types.
- 3. Because it is possible for one fuel type to be PCT-limiting, and another to be oxidation-limiting, provide a commitment to report LOCA analysis results for all fuel types (represented in a significant number of assemblies), per 10 CFR 50.46 (a)(3).
