Dear Sir or Madam:
By this letter, Entergy withdraws Pilgrim Relief Request (PRR)-27, which was submitted on June 5, 2002 and supplemented on September 18, 2002 (References 1 and 2).
Our reason for the withdrawal is as follows:
- 1. The NRC has published Final Rule, "Industry Codes and Standards; Amended Requirements",
by Federal Register Notice Dated September 26, 2002, providing requirements for certification of VT-2 visual examination personnel. These amended requirements become effective on October 28, 2002.
- 2. Our review of the Final Rule confirms that the amended requirements include the relief provisions described in the PRR -27 for certification of VT-2 visual examination personnel and the effective date supports the Pilgrim refueling outage schedule. Therefore, we have concluded that the PRR-27 approval is not necessary.
