ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE PROJECT MANAGERS FOR THE LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION FOR DRESDEN NUCLEAR POWER STATION, UNITS 2 AND 3, AND QUAD CITIES NUCLEAR POWER STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2

Dear Mr. Benjamin:

By your letter dated March 9, 2001, you notified the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) of Exelon Generation Companys (EGCs) LLC intent in Fiscal Year 2003 to pursue operating license renewal for Dresden Nuclear Power Station (Dresden), Units 2 and 3 and Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station (Quad Cities), Units 1 and 2. This application will seek to renew Operating Licenses DPR-19 and DPR-25 for Dresden, Units 2 and 3, respectively, and to renew Operating Licenses DPR-29 and DPR-30 for Quad Cities, Units 1 and 2, respectively.

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. T.J. Kim as project manager for the safety review and the appointment of Mr. Louis L. Wheeler as project manager for the environmental review for the Dresden and Quad Cities license renewal application. Mr. T.J. Kim may be reached at 301-415-1392 (TJK3@NRC.GOV) and Mr. Louis L. Wheeler may be reached at 301-415-1444 (DXW@NRC.GOV). Please send Mr. T.J. Kim and Mr. Louis L. Wheeler a copy of all safety and environmental license renewal correspondence, respectively.

Mr. Larry Rossbach continues to remain responsible for NRC project management of all issues other than license renewal for Dresden, Units 2 and 3. Mr. Carl F. Lyon continues to remain responsible for NRC project management of all issues other than license renewal for Quad Cities, Units 1 and 2.
