SUMMARY
OF OCTOBER 9, 2002, TELECOMMUNICATION WITH DOMINION VIRGINIA ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a conference call with the representatives of Dominion Virginia Electric and Power Company (Dominion) on October 9, 2002. The purpose of this conference call was to discuss the results of the Framatome evaluation on neutron fluence values and consistency of the methodologies used by Dominion in its neutron fluence calculations with RG 1.190. During a conference call held on September 19, 2002, as documented in a telecommunication summary, dated September 26, 2002, the NRC staff had requested that Dominion provide this information to the staff when Framatome completed its independent evaluation of these issues. A list of participants in this conference call is enclosed.
Dominion representatives informed the staff that Framatome had provided the neutron fluence values that were developed with a methodology consistent with the RG 1.190 methodology.
Additionally, as requested by the staff, Dominion provided the staff with the results of new calculations using all available surveillance data applicable to weld wire heat number 299L44.
These calculations have been performed in support of Surry, Unit 1, reactor vessel neutron embrittlement time-limited aging analyses (TLAA).
The staff requested that Dominion submit all the data and information discussed during this conference call formally to the NRC Document Control Room. Dominion agreed to comply with this request.
This conference call summary has been shared with and reviewed by Dominion.
